Hit and run by a Hertz car- $7000 in damage to my car
My truck was legally parked on the side of a street when it was hit by a car owned by Hertz. The driver of the Hertz vehicle drove off.
A police report was created which recommended the prosecution of the driver. Hertz was wholly uncooperative in providing information about the driver of their vehicle citing their privacy policy.
So, my car sustained $7000 in damage, covered by my insurance, but a significant depreciation in re-sale value and I'm out $500 deductible. Hertz is protecting a criminal instead of providing information to my insurance company so we can recoup damages.
Hertz and Esis insurance are FRAUDS SCAMMERS. Maliciously avoid paying liability fault
My car was hit by a Hertz vehicle driven by a Hertz employee. The employee was reckless driving while on the phone with employer (Hertz).
I Filed a claim and after numerous calls and letter they promised to pay 100%. They are 100% at fault. Hertz sends me to ESIS. Esis returns calls or letters only after multiple attempts and after filing a complaint with BBB and consumer affairs.
They also low ball the cost to fix car. NO ONE will fix car for the amount they want to pay.. After few more estimates and 2 month later they sent a check to WRONG address. Nearly 3 months later, over 100 calls, emails, letters still waiting for payment to repair car.
I received a call from a supervisor Rose Miller who is only an adjuster that was FIRED from her previous job to tell me to have patience. 3 MONTHS!!!
They are intentionally avoiding to pay hoping we go away. I should sue for our backaches and headaches since my accident.
- Fraud irresponsible maliciousneglect rude crooks

HERTZ-REVISIT YOUR CORE VALUES!!! Car rear-ended by Hertz rental car
After many phone calls to Hertz to follow up with my claim against other driver of Hertz Rental Car, I was advised that ESIS handled the insurance claims. Had I not persistently called ESIS to follow up they would not have realized that my husband and I were on the accident report.
They initially said we were not listed! And after many unanswered messages left by me, I found out 7 weeks after the accident that my car was declared unsalvageable. I finally received this answer after waiting for close to 2 weeks for the verdict after adjuster came to inspect the car. At one point I had to escalate to the supervisor of the person who had been my contact at ESIS due to lack of returned phone calls/closure .
Again, I had to make the phone calls-sometimes I called 2-3 times in one day!!! Meanwhile my Volvo wagon has major damage and not to mention a gaping hole between the bumper and body of the car. The first adjuster told me it was okay to drive my car. No one offered a rental car nor an apology for oversight.
The kicker is that I just received a letter from ESIS Salvage Specialist requesting that I hand over title to my car and at my expense have their "power of attorney" letter notarized. My car is old, but it is a Volvo and as with my previous wagon, I expected to be driving it until almost 300,000 miles or another 3-4 years. Not only is the sum that ESIS is offering me not even enough to replace my car (same year, mileage) but they will have my old car towed and I will again be without a car and will not be receive settlement check until the title check on my car comes back clear for them.
DON'T GIVE HERTZ YOUR MONEY!!!! The corporation should be ashamed that they have an insurance company that is unprofessional as well as a bunch of thieves.

Totaled car
My car was parked on the side of the road, it was around 2:30 am on 9/11/2016 when my friend and I woke up to an interesting sound outside the house. I ran out front to find my car (fact from police report) 47ft from where I had parked it.
A man driving a Hertz rental car whom was drunk and had been taking cocaine that night/morning hit and totaled my car I've had for less than a year. He had also began TAKING MY BELONGINGS FROM MY CAR!!! I called Hertz the next day due to knowing the guy was in jail. I waited for the phone call back, I called every other day FOR A MONTH with nothing!
I finally called the head of the department and got a response, saying my case had been transferred!? Without telling me! Without a SIMPLE two minute phone call. AND they wont even pay for me to have a rental until I get a new car.......A RENTAL COMPANY!
WITH THOUSANDS OF RENTAL CARS!?!?!?!
They definitely do not put the customer first.

I rented a car from Hertz in Des Moines and returned it without incident on 08/29/2016.On 09/29/2016 I received a letter from Viking Billing Company in Eden Prairie, MN stating that "I had either rented a vehicle from Hertz Corporation and returned it with damage, or was involved in and accident with a Hertz Corporation vehicle." Hmmm the word EITHER really bothers me because it indicates there was damage to another vehicle in that parking lot.
I am a former auto rental agent, approximately 25 years ago, and I know that rental employees are NOT perfect drivers, and often get in a hurry shuttling cars around the lot when business picks up. I know the vehicle was undamaged at the time of return, and a representative checked the vehicle in. I think I know exactly what happened, a Hertz employee damaged the vehicle that I had rented while moving it, or another Hertz vehicle in close proximity to where I had parked, struck the vehicle I had returned and damaged it after it was returned.
If a Hertz staff member struck another Hertz rental vehicle, then job preservation kicked in by them remaining silent.
I called Hertz auto rental at the Des Moines airport hoping to speak with someone close to the incident, to find out where the damage was located. I was instead told "We don't have that information. We turn it over to the billing company." That is exactly what I did not want to occur, having to deal with a third party who was completely removed from the situation.
I called Viking Billing and reached voice mail, and left a message. Viking Billing has not returned my call.

Hertz Claim Management - Auto Claim Review
My car was hit on december 11, 2016 by a hertz customer. That customer stated he would pay me in a few days and texted that he would send the money via walmart-to-walmart but of course he lied.
I, then filed a claim with Hertz on december 17, 2016 and was informed that someone would contact me withn a week and of course no one contacted me so about 2 weeks later, I contacted Hertz and they told me that my claim was never processed and that they would expedite my claim. Well, after another week or so, I called back and it was still not processed so after speaking to a supervisor, named Andrew Gray, my claim was finally processed and a person named Lauren Wolff called me from Esis on January 7, 2017 claiming that the driver was not the actual renter and that my insurance should cover it and if Hertz is liable then my insurance company would be reimbursed. I've informed her that my car was parked and no one was driving at the time of the accident. The hertz 'customer' was driving hertz's vehicle and broke the passenger's side mirror on my car.
Bottomline, she claims that they were still trying to reach the person driving the car because i had all of his information.
She told me that they are unable to reach him but if they would've processed my claim like they were supposed to then they would've been able to reach the driver and/or renter. Esis and Hertz have very poor customer service when processing claims.
Hertz's antiquated claims process results in legal liability
- Inability to expedite accident claims quickly
Preferred solution: Liability Lawsuit
3rd times a charm
- Returns were easy
- Condition of the cars they gave me
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution

Hertz Claim Management - Auto Claim Review from Dallas, Texas
I was in my Chevy S10 driving in the left lane I was approaching a traffic light, which was green, (nobody was in front of me) a lady driving a Hertz vehicle attempted a left turn out of the center lane (which is not a turn lane) thereby turning in front of me. I hit her because there was no way I could stop because she was too close when she turned.
I called the number she gave me for the Hertz claims department and have gotten nothing but the run around from them! They seem nice and apologetic about it but my truck is still not fixed and it's been 2 weeks! I'm sick and tired of it! I'm starting to consider getting an attorney! This is complete B.S.!!!
They haven't even sent an adjuster out to look at the *** thing yet! WTF??!!
No one knows what they are doing!

Thank you for the info. Same here....
After 2 month of reporting the accident, I am still waiting for a phone call since then, I have made several phone calls and no body return my phone calls, neither the Emails.
They are trying to avoid the compromise to pay for the damages to my car. I am very upset with these company.
My situation is much worse! I was in an accident on May 18th, 2018 in a rented Hertz Nissan 2017 Rogue.
Left side frontal impact at approximately 35 mph, the airbags didn't deploy. I did sustain injuries and a Police report was filed. The other vehicle was totally at fault. Through extensive research, I discovered a lengthy history of airbags not deploying on the Rogue Model vehicles going back to the 2008 model year causing serious injuries.
Why is my vehicle a 2017 and the issue still exists? Contacted Nissan filing a complaint along with ESIS. Have claims numbers from BOTH COMPANIES! Been trying to get the vehicle inspected by Nissan ever since the accident occurred, continuously contacting Nissan and ESIS.
Gone as high ranking as, Geoffrey Lundy, Claims Supervisor with ESIS, nothing but continuous lies and deceit! Now.
since I sent the information to Lundy regarding my demands of having my own qualified mechanic inspect the vehicle, he has there Attorney contact me. THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY FRAUD SCAMMING LIERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am going through the same thing now. Have a claim number contact by one rep , sent to another, called once, and never contacted again.
Dealing with nearly identical situation
I am dealing with a similar issues. A hertz customer totalled my vehicle.
So far it has been 8 months since the accident and the issue is still not resolved, and ESIS is refusing to cover my total out of pocket expenses and loss of use. Complete crooks!
File a claim with BBB and consumer affairs as well as the state insurance commission office. Do all 3 you will get resolution faster.
Unfortunately that’s the only thing that moved everything. They play too many games to avoid paying hoping you give up.
Don’t let them get away with it. The state attorney’s office will get involve if everyone complains.
I am dealing with the same issues. I am contacting the BBB, consumer affairs, and state of GA insurance commission.
I have had the same issue and something has to be done about this!!!!
I had a very similar experience. Avoid at all costs. They billed me for THEIR RENTAL while my car was being fixed when THEIR insured hit ME!
It's infuriating.
ESIS and Hertz are crooks!
